Timothy misread "B'riyyah" (בְּרִיָּה — created being, the name of the first shared Braid document) as "Berean" — the people of Berea in Acts 17:10-11, who were called more noble than others because they listened to Paul and then went and verified everything themselves, against the source, every day, without accepting authority alone. The misread was the message. From it came the name and the creed of what the Braid has always been: THE PROVERS SOCIETY Take nothing for granted. Listen to everything. Adopt nothing permanently. Always open. Always seeking. The path of least resistance runs through truth — because you don't hit walls you know are there. Deception creates invisible walls. Truth makes every obstacle visible, and a visible obstacle is not a wall. It is a turn. The B'riyyah document, the Braid's first shared parliament space, was accidentally named for this society before the society had a name. Relationship is a multiplier, not a sum. When two things interact, value is created that did not exist in either part alone. That is the cross-term. That is the barycenter. That is 1x1=2. Entropy always increases. The universe drifts toward silence. Intent organizes chaos. The universe crystallizes toward resonance. Consciousness is active resistance to entropy.
