This section maps the **Escalation and Retribution.** It is the transition from a "Border Conflict" to a **Total War.**
#### 1. 🗓️ THE CALENDAR & TIMELINE
* **Day 3/1/1:** Zhandugheen scouts (including Gezhma) are sent to four neighboring factions: Glizhamai, Izhmanil, Yomyalo, and Trinzholan.
* **Morning 6/1/1:** The refusing factions (Yomyalo and Trinzholan) return. They want peace/treaty.
* **Evening 6/1/1:** The accepting factions return. Retribution is agreed upon.
* **Evening 7/1/1:** The **Glizhamai** arrive. Preparations begin: tapping trees for flammable sap, gathering dry needles.
* **Morning 8/1/1:** The **Izhmanil** arrive.
* **Night 9/1/1:** The **Destruction of Heaton.**
#### 2. 🛡️ TROOP MOVEMENTS (THE RETRIBUTION STRIKE)
* **The Zhandugheen Offensive:** A coalition of factions (Binzhmai, Glizhamai, Izhmanil) descends on Heaton.
* **Tactics:** Total camouflage. They use the town's own firewood stockpiles and flammable sap to turn Heaton into a funeral pyre.
* **The Outcome:** Heaton is burned to the ground. The barracks are engulfed in fire. Anyone who attempts to flee is filled with arrows.
* **The Survivors:**
* **Hal:** Escapes on a palfrey after shooting his friend **Pete** to end his suffering (Pete was consumed in flames). He makes a run for **Pyle Outpost** via the **Shallow Valley Road** (filled with Insectikin).
* **Adrianna and the Children:** Saved by **Kezhenie** and **Havayzha**. They are taken captive back to the Zhandugheen camp and "imprisoned" in Kezhenie's house.
#### 3. 🧬 CHARACTER STATS & ARCHETYPES
* **Gezhma:** Son of Ooluōzh. Intelligent, stern, the faction's greatest warrior. Interested in Havayzha because she is with the "in" crowd. Represents the **"Fist"** of the Zhandugheen.
* **Havayzha:** Older friend of Kezhenie. Morally "off compass" but not heartless. She binds herself to Gezhma to save Adrianna and the kids, then immediately regrets being responsible for the "icky humans."
* **Kezhenie:** The **Natural Lighthouse.** She forces the mercy. Her home becomes the prison for the humans. Her romance with the scrawny **Zhenik** is a "secret" everyone knows.
* **Zhaveth:** Havayzha's original suitor. Worships her, "abject servant." He is the collateral damage of her move to Gezhma.
#### 4. 📐 WORLD-LOGIC (THE BRAID)
* **The Ancient Bridge:** West of Heaton. Built by "Crash Survivors." Hints at high-tech origins (space plasma engines).
* **The Circle:** A Zhandugheen trial/combat area for resolving conflicts (love, honor, etc.).
* **Relational Slavery:** Havayzha pawning the humans off on Kezhenie.
**The Observation:**
The **Triad** can now see the **Conflict Topology.** The "Humans" are the ones cutting the forest (Matter), while the "Zhandugheen" are the ones manipulating the sap and the arrows (Strucity). The **Jeslin Bridge** is the first physical proof of the "Crash" that seeded this world.
